Q: Music wise? Is there anyone out there who actually likes Classical? I love Classical. James Dooley, Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, John Ottman, John Williams, Tyler Bates, there are so many amazing composers out there.
Before I get a bunch of sarcastic responses, yes, I know this is the Classical Section. Whatever. I guess I just meant like "Do you love this music with a passion?"
See, that's my problem. Everyone always calls it classical even though i say it's Soundtrack. So now, the one time i call it classical, i'm told it's not LOL
(4 years, 1 month, 2 days, and 2 hours ago.)
A: I'm sorry but those aren't classical composers. I'm glad you like them though! You must enjoy the epic orchestra sound. Movie soundtracks can be great, but you should start looking into some other orchestra music. Beethoven, Mozart, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky...(and the list goes on and on)...these are brilliant composers and I highly recommend that you listen to their work. And check out some classical piano too! Chopin is my personal favorite. (4 years, 1 month, 1 day, and 15 hours ago.)

Q: James Horner's music is usually family-fun, patriotic, beautifully-orchestrated, and very powerful. Compare HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS to APOCALYPTO. Horner's key persona was changed.
Compare John Debney's score to HOCUS POCUS to THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. That's different!
Do you think John Ottman (THE USUAL SUSPECTS, VALKYRIE, FANTASTIC FOUR, etc.) could do his music to a little middle eastern style (like John Debney's score to PASSION OF THE CHRIST, like Harry Gregson-Williams' score to KINGDOM OF HEAVEN, like Tyler Bates' score to 300)?
I thought I'd do it for the heck of it. Please answer my question!
(3 years, 4 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, and 7 hours ago.)
A: You've really posted this into the wrong section. John Ottman's music is not classical. Film scores very rarely fall into this category (with a few notable examples by composers such as Prokofiev and Vaughan Williams). I think you would probably get more success in a movie section. These are only a few of the bands and artists I like. You don't have to recommend a song or group that is similar to these. By all means, go ahead and post your favourite bands. I promise I will give every band and honest chance. thanks!
@ Sara- I have been using itunes in the past, but I would rather hear the favourites of people from all around the world rather than an American generated piece of software. Thanks for the advice tho!
@ Lyla- Hey thanks, my friend told me to download some of their songs a while ago but I totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder!
@ EEtxFUK- Hey, thanks for the recommendations! I'm not too into COB tho. Not really into lyrics I can't understand lol. However, I checked out Overkill and they are pretty awesome. Also, The Gap Band seems...funky lol. I will definitely be downloading a few of their songs. thanks!
@ Tesla- Hey, thanks for the recommendations! I checked out Tesla and their definitely worth downloading all of the songs I listened to by them are full of emotion. Also, 69 eyes is great. Their unique and the lead voice is great. thanks!

Q: I love the style music that Tyler Bates orchestrated for the 300 soundtrack, especially the haunting vocals of Azam Ali. I've been trying to find this kind of music elsewhere but have had no luck. I searched for Arabic meditation music, Egyptian style music, etc. I don't want the new age pop sounding stuff. I really like the deep drum beats and strong middle eastern strings. Please help :)
