2010-01-27 16:30:28 by Evan Z Q: I am a nirvana fan and i really wish i could find a newer band similar in style of music to them. Any ideas? (2 years, 6 months, 3 days, and 21 hours ago.)

A: Personally, I don't think you will find any band that sounds quite like Nirvana, they had a sound that incorporated a lot of different musical styles. But i would suggest you look at the bands that influenced them: Sonic Youth, The Vaselines, The Wipers (great band in my opinion), Black Sabbath, The Sex Pistols (you probably already listen to the last two). Also, if you haven't heard of them, Them Crooked Vultures is a super group with Dave Grohl (drums) Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age (guitar, vocals) and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin (bass) and they're really great (check out their song "No One Loves Me and Neither Do I", it's awesome) Hope This Helps!! :) (2 years, 6 months, 3 days, and 14 hours ago.)

A: kurt was an artistic dude gain up to 8 !! and bring your guitar close to the amp and dond forget lots a scraching and random noise ! (2 years, 7 months, 2 weeks, 6 days, and 14 hours ago.)

2011-01-23 02:19:32 by Homer Johnson Q: I remember the music video being shot in black and white in a playground. The band was singing about an unnamed person who took a lot of taunting and abuse. They sounded similar to Nirvana. I cannot remember the name of the band or the song. (1 year, 5 months, 1 week, and 11 hours ago.)

A: hi sir,u must visit this link i think this is very helpful to you infotechforus.blogspot.com (1 year, 5 months, 1 week, and 14 hours ago.)

2010-04-02 10:49:59 by Ylugh Q: I mean they ended the whole 80's metal thing and made it all look fake right? There also hasn't been another band like Nirvana. (2 years, 3 months, 3 weeks, 2 days, and 4 hours ago.)

A: Not only the music industry but the entire world would be worse off without NIRVANA. They defined their era, never sold out, believed in peoples rights and woke people up to what was happening in the world. They were grunge. The genre that wasn't afraid to stand up for what they believe in. The music industry would most definitely be a horrible place (2 years, 3 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, and 15 hours ago.)

2008-12-31 09:46:15 by Adam S Q: I cant find and sheet music for nirvana, and i know there is a cello in many of nirvana's songs. (3 years, 8 months, 4 days, and 4 hours ago.)

A: You can't. There is not a Cello publication for Nirvana. However, because Bass Guitar is a C instrument like the Cello, a Bass Guitar book should serve the same purpose. There are some Nirvana Bass books below, that you might find helpful. (3 years, 8 months, 2 days, and 14 hours ago.)

2009-03-01 01:06:19 by Spray Q: I want to compile every Nirvana recording that exists that is available (live perormances, studio recordings, home demos, alternate versions, rare songs, etc.) and put it on an iPod. I keep finding different songs in different places, mainly on You Tube and other places. Is there anyone that has compiled every Nirvana recording available? Can I download all of those songs and put them on an iPod? (3 years, 6 months, and 12 hours ago.)

A: Your best bet is to get the With The Lights Out boxed set. It's got everything. Life, studio, b-sides, rare tracks, acoustic, remix... Or if you find something on youtube you can go to keepvid.com and then go to media-convert.com to make mp3s of the videos. (3 years, 6 months, and 14 hours ago.)

2009-02-21 21:52:22 Q: whats your favorite nirvana unplugged song? mines the remake of The Man Who Sold The World- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nyifOz2IEc or whats your favorite Alice in Chains Unplugged Song? mines Nutshell- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3px0m1Y9Tuc thanks, all answers are appreciated (3 years, 6 months, 1 week, and 16 hours ago.)

A: I thought you were pulling a Nirvana Boy for a minute there. I love his version of "oh me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUtIEMkqk9I But i love how he brought the Meat Puppets on stage, he said he was gonna bring a guest and everyone thought he would bring like Eddie Vedder and they would have a super grunge show. But he brought an underground band. People should have expected that though, very typical Kurt thing to do. BQ-Favorite Alice In Chains unplugged Nutshell or got me wrong http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXhtm3CW9-o I really love AIC unplugged though, when the cd store near my house was going out of business and they had a sale i went in and just picked up AIC unplugged without thinking much. But when i put it on and heard nutshell I was really just blown away. The videos are hard to watch though because Layne looks so sick you just want to give him a hug. Still its probably the best unplugged show. (3 years, 6 months, 1 week, and 14 hours ago.)

2007-04-30 11:46:24 by jj echo Q: if the song by nirvana came out in 2002 and cobain was dead by 1994 ,,,,is that possible (5 years, 5 months, 3 weeks, 6 days, and 3 hours ago.)

A: Yeah, he Nirvana recorded that song before he died. It was just released on the 2002 album for the first time. Mainly so people who already had the original albums would buy the CD since it had a previously unreleased song. Alot of record companies do that for re-issues and greatest hits albums. 2007-12-18 17:13:18 by willy w Q: My teacher knows alot about music and he says nirvana sucks, what can i say to prove him wrong (4 years, 9 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, and 20 hours ago.)

A: Nirvana popularized an entire genre of music. They have left an indelible mark on the landscape of pop culture and will forever have the same name recognition as Elvis and The Beatles because of it. Just because it doesn't sound good in his ear, doesn't mean it's not good at all. He's just a douchebag with a stick up his ass. (4 years, 9 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, and 14 hours ago.)

2009-05-22 14:04:40 by Kale S Q: I have heard a few songs by Nirvana. Smells Like Teen Spirit, Heart Shaped Box and a few others. I personally enjoy Pearl Jam, but was intrigued by the amount of people who love Nirvana on Y!A. The songs that i listed above, i find to be extremely obnoxious and bad. My question is, are there any Nirvana songs that are like, less annoying? (3 years, 3 months, 2 days ago.)

A: No, all their songs suck! Those two are their best songs. All their other songs suck even worse than those two! It is all downhill from those two songs. I guess "All Apologies" is alright. It is more mellow & laid back & Kurt doesn't screech & scream as much as usual. But it's still a very bad song. Don't waste your time on them. It is nice to see someone else thinks they are crap cause they are! Try Alice In Chains, they rock and are much better and they blow Nirvana out of the water.
